Scripts Available
from Acting in Faith
Acting in Faith provides quality, simple-to-produce
scripts with the needs of progressive congregations in mind.
The writers are Pamela Abbey, director of Acting in Faith and
Jennifer Weil, a professional actress who was the Founder/Director
of the Acts of God® drama ministry in Santa Rosa, CA for
a number of years.
We
offer:
Short
Worship Dramas, designed to be part of a Sunday morning
worship service. Many are linked to texts from the New Revised
Common Lectionary. The scripts run between 4 and 10 minutes
in length. All are small casts and can be performed in a traditional
chancel area. Since choosing the right script can be challenging,
please feel free to email with questions about theme, plot or
characters. We’ll respond quickly.
Cost for each script is $10 with right to copy in the congregation
of the original purchaser.
Dramatic
Monologue, Sermons which are message-length monologues,
usually from the perspective of a biblical character. The monologues
are designed to be the Sunday morning message. They run from
15-20 minutes in length. It’s always more effective to
memorize them, but they can be performed with script nearby
if needed.
Cost for each script is $10.
Longer
Scripts, for production at times other than Sunday morning.
These scripts run from 12 – 20 minutes and are designed
to be the centerpiece of the worship service. Casts are small
and set requirements are minimal. Cost is $15 with right to
copy for use in the congregation of the original purchaser.
Dramatic
Readings
Grab the attention of your congregation with a dramatic reading
of scripture. We’ve formatted a variety of NRSV texts
to save you time. Cost is $2.50 for each individual passage.
Some are also offered in collections to save you money.
We try to fill all orders within 24 hours, Monday – Friday.
